Looking for the first step in working with scuba as a career? As a PADI Divemaster, you will lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training. Whether you want to be a Nomad and work at a faraway dive destination or close to home at a local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you.
When you join the tribe by becoming a PADI Divemaster, you align yourself with the largest and most respected dive tribe in the world - that of PADI Professionals. PADI Divemasters are respected dive professionals who assist in the development and mentorship of future divers.
During this program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems as well as help others improve their scuba diving abilitities.
As you progress through your Divemaster internship, you will immensely expand your diving knowledge and master your skills to instructor level quality. Then, as a PADI Divemaster, you will use these attributes to lead, mentor and motivate other divers, and experience the joy of seeing them transform and develop their own skills.
Prerequisites
Be at least 18 years of age or older
Hold a Rescue Diver level certification or equivalent from a recognized agency
Current First Response Primary and Secondary Care within the last 24 months
Have at least 40 dives to begin the course and 60 for certification
